Overview

Disputes and claims

A dispute costs time, money and attention, and the first decision is often the most important: whether to negotiate, settle, or go to court, and what each path is likely to involve.

Appiah Opoku Boateng acts for individuals and businesses bringing or defending claims, starting with an honest assessment of the case's strengths, its challenges and its likely timeline, and representing you in court where settlement is not possible.

How it works

A clear view before deciding how far to go

Your dispute moves from an assessment to a strategy, the proceedings it needs, and a resolution.

  1. Assessment

The facts, the documents, and what the case turns on.

  2. Strategy

Negotiation, settlement or a claim — and what each involves.

  3. Proceedings

Pleadings, disclosure and hearings, with you informed throughout.

  4. Resolution

A settlement, or a hearing where one is needed.

Questions

Before your consultation

Is there a deadline to start a claim?

There often is, and it can be short. Call as soon as a dispute arises rather than waiting to see whether it resolves.

Do you defend claims as well as bring them?

Yes — the firm acts whether you are pursuing a claim or defending one.

Will my case go to trial?

Many disputes settle. Where they do not, the firm represents clients in court.
